What we Believe

  • Trinity.  We believe that there is one God, a personal conscious Being, and Creator of all things seen and unseen, eternal (without beginning or end) as three distinct beings: the Father, Son and Holy Ghost.  We believe that the Son born of the Virgin Mary is the only begotten son of God, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, who lived a sinless life, was crucified, died, and rose again.  We believe that Jesus will return again to establish His Kingdom.

  • Holy Bible. We believe that the Holy Bible is the all-sufficient, inspired and infallible word of God.  We believe that its scriptures can only be interpreted under the direction of the Holy Spirit.  We believe that the Holy Bible is the only authoritative and ruling doctrine for daily living and church administration.  We believe that the Holy Bible is the final standard by which all creeds, doctrines and actions must be measured.

  • Repentance. We believe that mankind and creation is in a fallen and sinful state and every human being has the need for redemption from the fearful penalty of everlasting perdition for sin.  We believe that human beings need salvation which can only be obtained through the new birth experience by repentance; and that this is the only remedy provided for man’s forgiveness of sins.

  • Salvation.  We believe that salvation is the free and gracious gift of God made available to mankind by Jesus taking the sins of the world upon Himself, to the cross of Calvary in order to redeem our sins.  We believe that human beings must personally accept Jesus as their Lord and Savior and remain faithful according to the Holy Scriptures.

  • Baptism.  We believe that full body immersion into water is the type of baptism sanctioned by the Holy Bible and that this is the type of baptism John bestowed upon Jesus.  Matthew 3:16 . . . “And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water . . .” Mark 10:39 . . . “And Jesus said unto them, . . . with the baptism that I am baptized withal shall ye be baptized . . .”

  • Holy Spirit.  We believe that the Holy Spirit (Ghost) is the Spirit of God that convicts the world of sin.  We believe that Jesus baptizes with the Holy Ghost and Fire which is evidenced by the gift of speaking in tongues.  ” In Luke 3:16, John the Baptist said, “I indeed baptize you with water; but one mightier than I cometh . . . he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost and with fire:”  I Corinthians 2:14, “For he that speaketh in an unknown tongue speaketh not unto men, but unto God:”. . .We believe that the Holy Spirit is like a supernatural agent that intercedes for all saints and is the divine teacher who guides believers into the body of Christ, indwelling and sealing them unto the day of redemption.

  • Communion.  We believe in taking communion in context with biblical teachings.  In I Corinthians 11:23-25, “The Lord Jesus, on the night he was betrayed, took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it and said, This is my body, which is for you; do this in remembrance of me.  In the same way, after supper he took the cup, saying, This cup is the new covenant in my blood; do this, whenever you drink it, in remembrance of me.”

  • Worship.  We believe in worshipping God in spirit and in truth and making a joyful noise unto Him.  Nehemiah 8:6. . . and all the people lifted their hands and responded, “Amen! Amen!” Then they bowed down and worshiped the LORD with their faces to the ground. John 4:23-24 “But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him. God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.”

  • Discipleship. We believe that the Bible requires born-again Christians to become true Disciples of Christ and lead others to His Kingdom as they become actively involved in church activities and utilize their gifts to fulfill God’s purposes.  We provide discipleship training and recognize that God gives gifts and places people according to His divine purposes. We encourage members to invest their time and dedicate their lives toward God’s service as they allow the Holy Spirit to guide their every activity.  We believe that by investing in God and others, people leave a legacy for Christ and become His true disciples.   I Corinthians 12:14, 18, and 28, “For the body is not one member, but many. . . God set the members every one of them in the body, as it hath pleased him. . . God hath set some in the church, first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, diversities of tongues.”  Matthew 28:19 “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.”
